Once you've used laughter to disable over-eating triggers, you'll want delicious healthy recipes to replace heart-heavy food. For example, try:
Hearthwarming Pumpkin-Pear Crunch
2 cups
cooked, mashed pumpkin flesh (no strings attached!)
or 2 cups canned pumpkin
1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon
pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup sugar equivalent
1 pear,
peeled and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1/4 cup dry oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2
tablespoons roasted pumpkin seeds
or 1 tablespoon sliced almonds (optional)
1
tablespoon water
With fork or rubber spatula, whip together pumpkin, salt,
pumpkin pie spice
and 1/2 cup sugar equivalent.
Fold in pears. Place in pie pan which has been sprayed
with non-stick spray.
In small bowl, combine oats, cinnamon and water. Sprinkle
oat mixture over
pumpkin-pear mixture. Sprinkle sliced
almonds or roasted pumpkin seeds over all.
Bake at 425° for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°, bake for
25 more minutes.
Serve with "lite" whipped topping if desired.
